Even though it's in the middle of the week, there are plenty of celebrations happening around town for July 4. Find out where you can find old fashioned parades and special Fourth of July events. The Balloon Fiesta field will light up with Freedom Fourth, and for those who want to spend a little time away from the crowds, you can pick up a ticket to the Balloon Museum's Red, White and Balloons VIP event, where you can see the fireworks from the museum.
The city has partially closed the Rio Grande bosque due to the extreme fire hazard. Fireworks safety is of the utmost importance. I've put together information on the fireworks restrictions and urge everyone to visit a sanctioned fireworks event. Here's to everyone having a safe and wonderful July Fourth!
