Summer unofficially kicked off over the Memorial weekend, and bbq grills being stoked were mute testament. This year's Summerfest series has three separate events, but the biggest of all will be the Centennial Summerfest on June 16. Central Avenue between 3rd and 8th Streets will have several entertainment stages, lots of live music to include Los Lobos, food vendors, games, a fun area for the kids, and much more. There will be historical re-enactments in honor of our state's Centennial, and a Route 66 theme will be part of the party. It all kicks off at noon and continues until well after dark.
