Black History Month Arts and Culture Weekend
February is Black History Month, and each week in Albuquerque brings a different focus. This weekend kicks off with a special arts and culture weekend that includes Roots Revival cabaret at the VSA North 4th Art Center, and Four + 1, a celebration of visual arts, also at the North 4th Center.
When: 8 p.m. 2/3 and 2/4, 2 p.m. 2/5; doors open at 7 p.m.

Cost: Roots Revival $15 - $20. The art exhibition is free.
Vamos el Museo
Families can take a 30 minute tour of the the art museum, then create their own masterpiece in a hands-on workshop. Call Elsa Menendez at 246-2261, ext. 189 to register.

100 Years of State and Federal Policy: The Impact on Pueblo Nations
The new exhibition at the IPCC examines the major events and milestones tied to federal and state policy since 1912 that have impacted Pueblo people. The show coincides with the New Mexico Centennial.
When: 1 p.m. February 4 for opening reception, events and exhibit ongoing.
Where: Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, 12th Street NW
Cost: WIth admission; $6 adults, 5.50 seniors, $4 NM residents, $3 children 5 to 17 and students.
Hot Rod and Custom Car Show
This is the 2012 Supernationals. See custom cars and their builders, an exotic car collection, auto artists, motorcycle builders and more.
When: Noon - 10 p.m. 2/3; 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. 2/4; 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. 2/5.
Where: Multiple locations, Expo New Mexico
Cost: $13.50 adults, $4 ages 6 - 12; under 6 free.
Witness for the Prosecution
The Agatha Christie thriller involves a naive young man who becomes the chief suspect in a play with many twists, turns and surprises. This is the last weekend for the play.
When: 8 p.m. 2/3 and 2/4, 2 p.m. 2/5

It's also the last weekend to see Moon for the Misbegotten by Eugene O'Neill. See it at the Adobe Theatre.
First Sundays at Sandia Mountain Center: Dinosaurs of New Mexico
Attend a special presentation on the dinosaurs of New Mexico, and explore the Sandia mountains.
When: Gates open 9 a.m., event at 10 a.m., open until 4 p.m.
Where: Sandia Mountain Natural History Center
Cost: Free.
Opening Day for Francisco Goya's Los Caprichos
The new exhibit opens February 5 and features an early edition of "Los Caprichos," the set of eighty etchings by Spanish Artist Goya. A special talk by curator Robert Flynn Johnson takes place on opening day at 1 p.m.

Cost: Museum is free Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; after 1 p.m., $1 - $4.
Albuquerque Youth Symphony Concert
The high school orchestra performs Carmina Burana, which was originally featured by the AYS 50 years ago. The AYS will be joined by choruses from local schools, the Albuquerque Boys Choir and members of the New Mexico Symphonic Chorus. La Cueva senior Hailey Buster will play a solo piece.

Cause of the Week
Healing Hearts Benefit
This fund raising luncheon benefits the Children's Grief Center, which provides a safe place for families to grieve a loved one's death. The center provides facilitated peer support groups for children, teens and adults who have experienced loss. The fundraiser allows the center to provide services free of charge.
When: February 4, 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
