The KiMo Theatre gallery opens a special exhibit called "The Raven" today, after the famous poem by Edgar Allan Poe. In the fall of 2011, 18 local artists were commissioned to create works for the exhibit, with each work interpreting one stanza of the poem. Pictures will be hung in the sequence of the poem itself.
An opening reception will be held tonight, March 1, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., which is free to the public. A silent auction of the the 18 artworks will take place, with bidding to remain open until 7 p.m. Monies raised from the auction will benefit Friends for the Public Library.
The show runs through March 25. The KiMo Gallery is located at 423 Central NW, on the corner of 5th and Central downtown.
