South Valley Economic Development Center Helps Food Entrepreneurs

The South Valley Economic Development Center's kitchen, the Mixing Bowl, is a commercial kitchen available to food entrepreneurs. The center is just off Isleta Boulevard and in addition to the commercial kitchen, there is a small business development center. Have an idea for a product that you'd like to see go on a store shelf? The SVEDC is the place to get started and see if that idea could work.

There will be a free talk about the Mixing Bowl at the next meeting for the Mid-Region Council of Governments (MRCOG) on Wednesday, June 13 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The meeting takes place at the MRCOG offices, located at 809 Copper NW. For more information, call Ann Simon at 505-724-3617 or at asimon@mrcog-nm.gov.

And if you have extra food you've grown, or fruit trees that need harvesting and you don't sell your products at a local Farmer's Market, you can post your food for trade or sale on the Local Food in New Mexico Facebook page.
