The AAA Diamond list for 2012 contains two Albuquerque hotels on its four star list: Hotel Andaluz and Hotel Parq Central. Four star hotels get their ratings from paying great attention to style and decor and providing a good number of services and amenities. The only rating higher than a four diamond is the five diamond, which is extremely rare. Less than 100 hotels nationwide have the five diamond designation.
Hotel Andaluz in downtown Albuquerque has been on the list since 2010. Hotel Parq Central in the Huning Hiland neighborhood of east downtown, has been on the list since 2011. The nearby Hyatt Tamaya in Bernalillo has been on the list since 2002. There are a total of twelve four star hotels in New Mexico this year.
